This August, give your child the chance to become a real young scientist in one of the most scenic mountain villages of Cyprus — Kakopetria!

Our unique Science Camp is open to children aged 7–16, and combines hands-on science, outdoor adventure, survival training, and expert-led workshops — all tailored to different age groups. Hosted at a cozy villa in the Troodos Mountains, the camp offers three exciting thematic weeks:

Week 1: Paleontology Camp – August 10-16

Let your child become a junior paleontologist and discover the secrets of prehistoric life!

Program highlights:

• Realistic tabletop fossil excavations
• Study of dinosaur skulls and brains using 3D models
• Learn how to estimate a dinosaur’s size, weight, and movement from fossilized tracks
• Explore the evolution of species and the mystery of extinction
• Understand the differences between land, flying, and aquatic animals
• Learn about natural selection and adaptation
• Practice methods used by modern paleontologists
• Full-day biological hike led by expert Dr. Nikolai Zinenko

What kids will gain:
Scientific thinking, observational skills, curiosity about Earth’s history, and hands-on experience in paleontological fieldwork.

Week 2: Physics Camp – August 17-23

This week is all about movement, forces, energy, and discovery — taught through real experiments and playful challenges.

Program highlights:

• Engaging physics workshops by the Sciencely team
• Experiments on motion, mechanics, balance, and energy
• Biological field hike and microscope lab sessions
• Learn to build and explore using real tools
• Daily survival challenges: fire-making, tree climbing, and navigation
• Evening campfire talks and open-air cinema nights

What kids will gain:
Hands-on knowledge of physics, teamwork skills, confidence, and a love for practical science.

Week 3: Chemistry Camp – August 24-30

A week full of colorful reactions, bubbling experiments, and scientific exploration!

Program highlights:

• Interactive chemistry masterclasses by Sciencely
• Age-appropriate experiments with safe chemicals and lab equipment
• Study of materials, reactions, and real-world chemical principles
• Biological hike and microscope investigations
• Daily capoeira classes from Arte Do Brasil for physical development
• Campfire storytelling and movie nights under the stars

What kids will gain:
A strong foundation in chemistry, excitement for science, and creative thinking through fun, real-life experiments.

All Weeks Include:

• Biological hiking expedition led by Dr. Nikolai Zinenko (PhD in Biology, experienced field scientist, and science advisor)
• Lab sessions with real microscopes and scientific tools
• Campfire evenings with marshmallows and science talks
• Outdoor cinema nights
• Survival training: fire-making, climbing, shelter building
• Movement classes (including capoeira for Chemistry Week)

Accommodation & Comfort

• Children stay in a mountain villa provided by the Cyprus Climbing & Orienteering Association
• 3 meals daily, tailored to individual dietary needs

Groups are divided by age:

• Ages 7–10
• Ages 11–16

Program adapted to the developmental stage of each group
Professional staff supervision and safety protocols in place

Fee:
€600 per child / per week — includes accommodation, meals, all lessons, activities, and excursions.
